"Insurmountable Odds" Conducted by Timothy Verville

Under Timothy Verville’s baton, three brilliantly orchestrated works showcase the HSO in an evening of overcoming overwhelming odds. Daugherty's Red Cape Tango pits Superman against his most powerful adversary ever, Doomsday, in a battle to the end. Canadian pianist Carter Johnson joins the orchestra performing Ravel's Concerto for the Left Hand, a work composed for a WWI veteran who lost an arm in battle. Love triumphs evil as the evening concludes with Rimsky-Korsakov's dazzling Scheherazade.
