Youth Chorus
The Hendersonville Symphony Children’s Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble providing quality vocal instruction for children in grades 2nd and older in public, private and home school environments from across Western North Carolina.
The HSCC accepts members twice yearly – in September and January and provides two concerts a year, and several community outreach concerts a semester.

Kelli Mullinix, Director & Conductor
Kelli Mullinix is a native of Asheville and has a Vocal Performance Degree from Mars Hill College and a Master in Sacred Music from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. She is the former director of Contemporary Worship and Children’s Choirs at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. She is very involved in the local theatre scene having performed and music directed at Asheville Community Theatre, Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, and the Asheville Lyric Opera.
Cheryl Hagymassy, Accompanist
Cheryl Hagymassy holds a degree in Music Education from Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, with a major in piano. She has taught both as a tenured K-12 teacher of vocal music in public schools and as a string instructor both privately and publicly. She is a violinist in the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and Brevard Philharmonic, and performs also in small groups on violin and viola.
